THINGS TO DO IN CHARLESTON / SEABROOK, SOUTH CAROLINA

Seabrook, SC in November 2019

Weather / Packing:

  • Mid July – Average High 88 F ( 31C ) Low 77 F ( 25C )
    • Actual – accurate + humid
    • Be SURE to pack bathing suits & extra changes of clothes
  • Late November – Average High 65 F ( 18C ) Low 45 F ( 7C )
    • Actual – Slightly cooler + rainy
    • Be SURE to pack a rain jacket, good rain shoes / boots, some sweaters / light jackets

Airport(s):

  • Charleston International Airport (CHS)
    • 15 Minutes From Charleston
    • 45 Minutes From Seabrook Island
    • SMALL AIRPORT
    • EASY TO NAVIGATE
    • 5 MIN WALK TO RENTAL CAR COUNTERS – You’ll want to rent a car for getting to Seabrook, Kiawah, etc…
    • PUBLIC BUS – CARTA – Charleston Area Rapid Transit Authority for accessing downtown Charleston

Where To Stay:

  • We opted to stay in an Air BnB on Seabrook Island because it is a private island and access to it is included when you rent a home on the Island
  • Most of the Rentals include Cruiser Bikes for navigating the Island sans car, however, the island is not small and you will want a car to GET to Seabrook and for navigating at night or to the other near by islands (Kiawah and John’s) for activities

Things To Do:

  • Seabrook Island Club – Amenity Cards Needed **POOL CLOSED UNTIL MAY 2020**
    • During the summer for swimming pool, golf, and the restaurant / cafe
    • During the Fall for golf, and sipping a coffee on the restaurant deck
  • Golf on Seabrook & Kiawah
  • Stroll The Beaches
  • See Wildlife – Alligators, Dolphins, Sharks, Comorants, Egrets, Herons, Bald Eagles, Cranes, Horseshoe Crabs, Albino / Pie Bald Deer
  • Angel Oak Tree – Free Entry (See Website For Hours, Closes at 5PM most days)
  • Fresh Fields Village – Grocery Store / Dining / Outdoor Mall
  • Dolphin Strand Feeding *map below – Best Accessed at Low Tide on the inlet between Kiawah and Seabrook – 1+ Mile Walk
  • Stroll Bohicket Marina – Seabrook Island
  • Rent A Boat From Bohicket Marina – Go Fishing
Dolphin Stranding – Park At Either Seabrook Beach or Kiawah Beach Walker Park
